DIPHTHERIA TOXOID+TETANUS TOXOID belongs to the group of medicines called 'immunizing agents' primarily used to prevent diphtheria and tetanus. Diphtheria is a serious infection affecting the nose and throat, leading to difficulty breathing, heart failure, paralysis, and even death. Tetanus, also known as lockjaw, is caused by bacteria that enter the body through deep cuts, wounds, or burns affecting the nervous system. DIPHTHERIA TOXOID+TETANUS TOXOID is not meant to treat diphtheria or tetanus infection.

DIPHTHERIA TOXOID+TETANUS TOXOID contains 'Diphtheria toxoid and Tetanus toxoid.' When injected into the muscle, it works by exposing the body to a small dose of bacteria or a protein from the bacteria. Thereby, it helps in providing immunity or resistance against diphtheria and tetanus diseases.

DIPHTHERIA TOXOID+TETANUS TOXOID will be injected into the muscle by a healthcare professional. Common side effects of DIPHTHERIA TOXOID+TETANUS TOXOID fever, crying, and loss of appetite. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor beforehand if you or your child has a history of severe allergic reactions to vaccines (paralysis, encephalopathy), immune system disorders like Guillain-Barre syndrome, HIV infection, high fever, and cancers like leukemia/lymphoma, and fits.
